SpeedWise is a France-first iPhone companion that estimates the current speed limit and the points-and-fine risk if you go over. It lives on your lock screen and Dynamic Island so you do not have to look away from the road.
Status: Private beta. Coverage is currently limited to the Brittany region (Côtes-d'Armor, Finistère, Ille-et-Vilaine, Morbihan) while we expand the French built-up-area dataset.
What it does
- Reads your GPS speed on the device.
- Looks up the speed limit on your current road segment.
- Shows the points and fine you would risk at your current speed — using the French Service-Public.fr penalty bands.
- Hides estimates when confidence is low — "check road signs" is always the safer default.
What it does not do
- No account, no sign-in.
- No advertising, no analytics, no third-party trackers.
- No legal advice. Estimates are guidance only — drivers must always follow posted signs.
